Our Team
Meet the Shine team: An inspiring group of instructors who bring experience, passion, and heart into every class. With a wealth of knowledge and a shared love for movement, they’re here to support, challenge, and uplift you every step of the way. We’re so proud of this community, and we know you’re going to love being part of it.
Meet Lacy
Hi, I’m Lacy, co-founder of Shine Pilates and one of the instructors you’ll see most often in the studio. I first discovered Pilates during my second pregnancy, and it was the perfect fit for me through the transition of pregnancy and postpartum. No matter where I was in life or what my body was capable of, Pilates met me there. It became the one form of movement I truly stuck with, not only because it’s effective, but because it feels so good. I love that Pilates is built on wellness-driven principles that work with your body, helping you build strength, endurance, and balance in a way that uplifts and empowers.
Over time, what started as a personal practice grew into a passion for teaching and creating community. I’ve fallen in love with sharing Pilates because it’s so much more than exercise, it’s a way to connect, recharge, and give back to the community in meaningful ways.
I hold a Comprehensive Pilates Certification and have pursued specialty workshops in Postpartum Movement and Pelvic Floor health. I’m also a trained Postpartum Doula, which makes supporting new moms especially close to my heart. Whether you’re brand new to Pilates, navigating recovery, or simply looking to build strength and energy, I’m here to meet you where you are and help you discover what’s possible in your body.
Meet Sarah
I’ve been practicing Pilates for over 10 years and teaching for 7, and it has become one of the most meaningful parts of my life. Born and raised in Reno, I love being rooted in this community and sharing the power of movement with others.
My early morning classes have become a signature offering—and my favorite way to start the day. What inspires me most as a teacher is watching people grow stronger, more confident, and more connected to their own bodies. Even a single class can bring the gift of presence, and I love creating that space for my clients.
Outside the studio, I also work as a longtime realtor and hospice volunteer (I am a trained Death Doula). Whether it’s guiding someone into a new home, supporting families in tender moments, or helping clients feel alive in their bodies through Pilates, my purpose is the same: to walk alongside people through life’s different stages with strength, a loving presence, compassion, and care.
Janelle:
With over 20 years of experience in the wellness space, Janelle brings a focused, intentional approach to Pilates centered on how the body actually moves and feels in everyday life.
Her style is supportive and direct. She has the heart of a teacher and loves helping clients understand not just what to do, but why it matters. Each session is structured to build strength, awareness, and confidence, with close attention to form and the small details that make a difference.
Outside of the studio, Janelle works in marketing and spends her time in the mountains skiing, hiking, and spending time with family. She believes Pilates is for everyone, not just those who fit a certain mold.
Her goal is simple. Help people move better, feel stronger, and feel more at home in their body.
Erin:
Hello! My name is Erin, I grew up in Lake Tahoe, where I loved to ski, hike, and enjoy all the water sports. I tried my first Pilates class about 11 years ago and instantly fell in love with the way it made me feel and the variety of different classes.
Getting my Pilates certification is something I truly will never regret! I love seeing new faces come into the studio and watching clients grow and fall in love with Pilates just like I did!
Amy:
My name is Amy. I'm a mom of two, boy 11 and girl 10. I also have a five year old rottie and a six month old gecko. When I’m not momming, my life consists of working out and Pilates, Pilates, Pilates! I’ve been doing Pilates on and off since I was sixteen and I’ve been teaching for about three years. I love helping people feel good and move their bodies. Pilates is the best, it’s mentally and physically rewarding and never gets old or boring. Not a lot of people can say they love what they do, but I truly can say that I do.
Kelly:
Kelly is a wife to her best friend and a proud mama of four. Life is full and busy in the best way—between her husband’s work as a firefighter and cheering on her kids at ice hockey and cheer, she’s always on the go.
She has been practicing Pilates for over 20 years and teaching for more than 10, and it truly has her heart. Kelly loves the connection Pilates creates and is passionate about helping others move and feel their best.
When she’s not in the studio, you can find her outdoors in the sunshine or working on her charcuterie business with her friend Shawn. She’s incredibly grateful for this life and this community, and can’t wait to move with you!
Shawn:
I’m a mom of two kids and two dogs, and Pilates has been a huge part of keeping me grounded, strong, and energized through it all. With over 10 years of experience, I love helping clients build confidence in their bodies while creating a welcoming, supportive space. Pilates to me is more than a workout—it’s a way to reconnect with yourself and feel your best.
Bridget:
Bridget is a wife and mom of two who brings a deep love of movement into everything she does. A true lifelong learner, she is always exploring new ways to grow and recently returned to school to continue her education. She brings a strong foundation of knowledge paired with a bubbly, welcoming energy that instantly puts people at ease. Her fun, engaging teaching style has quickly made her a favorite among clients.
Kate:
Meet Kate! Born + raised in Reno, she is an experienced + passionate Reformer Pilates instructor that fell in love with both Mat and Reformer Pilates in college before becoming certified in 2010 and 2015, respectively. Drawing from a strong background and education in anatomy and biomechanics as a Physical Therapist Assistant, Kate's classes emphasize alignment, mind-body connection, and creating safe and effective movement sessions for your body. Outside of Pilates, Kate is an avid traveler, dog-lover, and ocean soul dreaming of surfing.
Fun fact: Kate co-owned a beachside hotel/retreat company and lived in Nicaragua 2020-2024.
Chandra:
Chandra is a published and syndicated Pilates and dance arts writer, with a certification in the Pilates Method with DK Body Balancing at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, which focuses on rehabilitation and specializes in spinal injuries.
She has also recently taught as a Dance Adjunct with Truckee Meadows Community College for two years. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from UNLV and maintained a professional dance career for over twelve years of experience in the professional circuit. She has worked with networks: such as, HBO, Warner Bros. Television, Fox Entertainment, MTV, Charo Entertainment and much more. She had to retire as a professional dancer due to Lumbar Stenosis, Spondylolisthesis, bulging discs and Scoliosis, which resulted to a massive spinal injury to her lumbar region of the back that caused the lower half of her body to be paralyzed for a short period of time. As any athlete she continued to dance as her sensation came back to her legs, which resulted in a crack in her spine and led to a lumbar laminectomy – spinal fusion of the L5-S1 region of the back with two discs removed and a right hip realignment.
Chandra started her Pilates passion when she was 19 years old at UNLV, and she was determined to heal her self from her surgery and continue to help others that
may suffer from the same pain as she has. Her passion for the Pilates Method is seen with her clients that have found relief from hip surgeries, shoulder replacements,
spinal injuries, lower back pain, postural concerns, balance and stabilization issues and learning how to breathe properly. She helps those that may feel that can’t do Pilates do to their age, weight or lack of movement. With a strong focus in learning how to practice the Pilates Method that best suits the body in front of her. My mentor Dolly Kelepecz-Momot always stated to me: “Do not identify yourself by your injury your injury doesn’t defy you or identify you…” She instilled in me that just because you are injured or may have a surgery, it’s up to each individual to stay positive with positive affirmations about yourself, there is room for change, but we have to be willing to walk through the next door of our life. We do what works for our bodies, and Pilates has allowed me to be free of steroid injections, epidurals and pain management. “I am free from my injury” – Chandra
